March Demonstrator will be Cassia Cogger
The general membership meeting of the Newington Art League will be held on Wednesday, March 11th at 6:30 p.m. at the Newington Senior and Disabled Center on Cedar Street. After a brief business meeting, the artist demonstrator will be Cassia Cogger.
Ms. Cogger will demonstrate the use of india ink as watercolor and add hand stamped lettering.
Cassia Cogger is an artist turned wife turned mother turned yogi turned artist again. In between were stints in Nepal, Japan, Thailand, New Zealand, a tattoo parlor, Colorado, Manhattan, and Connecticut.
Her work has been featured at the National Academy Museum of Design in NYC, in Watercolor magazine as a rising star and in follow up, and a host of other galleries and private collections.
Despite these past honors, Cassia knows that art happens anywhere, whether at her combined art/yoga retreats or in your own studio/playroom/storage area. Art happens wherever there is space to discover, explore, and bloom…even in the face of fear and doubt. If you’re not sure how this works, she would love to show you how.
At the core of Cassia Cogger is heart. Heart as love, heart as life, heart as the blood that circulates our creativity and connection. Her heart loves to laugh, to teach, and to create. Her heart works to inspire others to play and discover their playfulness. To discover their art. Their heart.
