Kelly Taylor to Demonstrate May 16th

Artist Kelly Taylor will demonstrate how to layer paint and collage with photo transfers to create a mixed media artwork on Wednesday, May 16th following a brief business meeting of the Newington Art League.

From Kelly:

“A love of color, texture, and the visual richness of life have all contributed to my drive to make art using a variety of techniques.  Acrylic paints, gels and mediums, collage, photographs, and photo transfers are some of the materials I use to create mixed media art in my home studio.

It has been an honor to have my work selected for numerous juried shows, and in 2015, I was the fortunate recipient of the Patricia Rosoff Foundation for Abstract Art Award (3rd place).  In October, 2017, I completed an Artist Residency Workshop at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, and just this month was selected for a national juried exhibit at the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts in Reading, PA.

I find enrichment through Signature Artist membership and volunteering at Arts Center East, a community art center in Vernon, CT, participating in an artist critique group, and as a member of Syntax, a mixed media artists group. I share my life with husband Norm and little dog Macy, living and working, in Glastonbury, CT.”
