Rob DeBartolo to Demonstrate in Pastel
Rob DeBartolo will be demonstrating his minimalist pastel techniques on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 in the Ceramics Room of the Newington Senior and Disabled Center at 120 Cedar St, Newington, CT 06111.
Rob DeBartolo – a self taught artist – has lived and worked as a printer in Connecticut for over 40 years. His experience in operating a small print shop led him to explore his deep connection to color ad its limitless possibilities. This passion with color and his knowledge and use of inks led to experimenting with monotypes, studying monotype techniques in New Haven, CT for over 15 years, and the creation of a new technique using diluted inks. This method requires the ability to “pour” inks on paper to create landscapes and flowers. Rob is also an accomplished artist using pastel, acrylics and collage. He owns and operates a gallery on the shoreline in Essex, CT where he shows art by local artists on a regular basis, as well as his own work. His works have been shown throughout New England and are in private collections.
