Drawing and the Magical Contour Line
Lesley Braren is an artist who lives in East Hampton, CT. She has been interested in art as long as she can remember, drawing, painting, constructing and experimenting. For many of us the desire to draw seems to be a natural part of childhood and then at some point we seem to lose that ability. Lesley found that contour drawing became the key to reviving what she had been seeking and opened her art eyes. It is very important to her to share this excitement, along with some of the other aspects of drawing such as negative space, values, and perspective Examples of how drawing can be an end in itself, from sketchbooks to finished pieces or a basis to go on into using any medium. How using drawing as an observation tool can help improve your art and how you look at life in general. Lesley has found that contour line drawing can be the magical door to self expression. She will demonstrate this along with mention of some of the other principles. This will be a fun evening and people are encouraged to bring a drawing pad, nothing precious, newsprint is fine, and some charcoal to give this method a try.
The meeting is free and open to the public.
