Due to circumstances beyond our control, we have a change in demonstrator for tomorrow evening. Wednesday, April 12, 2017 Jim Grabowski will demonstrate following our short business meeting.

One look at Grabowski’s work and you will find most impressive the power and beauty of nature that his technique and palette conveys to the viewer. A native of New Britain, Jim Grabowski was educated at Central Connecticut State University and taught art after receiving his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Fine Art. In the past  years, Jim has been commissioned by over 150 corporations for large-scale projects involving his originals including the new building at Pratt and Whitney.

Become a “Friend of the Newington Art League”

The Newington Art League needs your support. We are offering local businesses a “Friend of the Newington Art League” status for $35 per year. The organization is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt charity and your donations should be tax deductible. Your business would be prominently listed on our show programs as well as on our website and Facebook page.

The art league, recently removed from it’s location in the Kellogg-Eddy House to make way for a new caretaker, is now in need of a new space. We rely on member dues and fundraising to support our programs which currently include a Scholarship to a Newington High School Student, six artist demonstrations per year free and open to the public, coordination and judging of the Chalk Walk and two art shows each year. While we would like to offer art classes and workshops, we cannot do so without an accessible location to hold them.

Please contact Pat Tanger at (860) 331-1984 or email pattanger@att.net if you are interested in more information.
