Lori Racicot to Demonstrate

Artist Lori Racicot will demonstrate her acrylic paint technique on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at the Newington Senior and Disabled Center, 120 Cedar St, Newington, CT. Her demonstration which is free and open to the public will follow the 6:30 meeting of the Newington Art League in the Ceramics room at the Senior Center.

Lori Racicot-Burrous is a self-taught painter who resides in Simsbury, CT.  Her paintings, reflecting her love of animals and nature, invite others in, evoke memories and often start a dialogue about shared experiences.  Beginning with observations of her subject matter and surroundings, she intuitively creates authentic pieces that capture her experiences.  Inspired by the impressionists, post-impressionists, and abstract expressionists, Lori uses multiple techniques to apply multiple layers of paint that hide as well as expose deeper layers of personal vulnerability. Lori’s award-winning work has been in numerous solo and juried group shows, printed in national art magazines and is represented in collections nationwide.  In addition to painting, Lori enjoys teaching others how to paint. Lori is a member of Simsbury Open Studios, Avon Art Association, West Hartford Art League, the Woman Artist Collective and the Back Room Collective.
